Friday Justyn didn't have school. So we decided to take the kids to the Springs preserve, or as Hannah says the "train park"We took Emma and Ms. Krystal with us also. The girls had a great time running around and checking out the place, poor justyn wasn't able to climb on the rocks or anything so needless to say it was a little young form him. But he was a good sport about it...well kind of. Vegas isnt really a kid friendly place so we have to make due with what we have, the summer time there is alot more to choose form. Most of the choises have to include water ir airconditioning though.
but here are some pictures of the kids at the springs.

Hannah decided to make a bed under our coffee table, she looked so cozy. Justyn use to do the same thing when he was her age it was a cute flash back for me.

So for Christmas I got a portable popcorn maker...way cool. The kids and I decided to test it out the other night. It was so fun, the kids had a great time making the popcorn. Just like at the movies except a lot cheaper! :)

You should have seen justyn's face Christmas morning when he awoke to see that Santa had gotten him and his sister not one but two puppies. It was so cool i could hear him in his room. He ran and got me and dad " mommy santa brought us two puppies" .

This past year we had some bad luck with dogs. Back in July we got a new puppy named Rex and a month later he passed away. Then to make things better we got another pup Rocco...we had him for a few months and he got parvo and died...wow..really. it was a lot for the kids to handle. So wes and i decided to quit with the dog thing for the time being.
Untill christmas rolled around and justyn asked santa for a new puppy. One that looked like rocco and rex. What was a parent supposed to do. After all the kids had been through wes and i couldnt help it. So we found out that the people who we got the first two dogs from had two more puppies...we went to check them out and ....we, well i fell in love so Santa brought us not one but two new puppies.

Hannah was really into decorating the tree this year. It was so funny, every ornament she got out she was like" this is mine" and i think all of them ended up on the same five or so branches. it was a lot of work for a little girl, in fact she passed out on the couch when she was done. And she never does that miss go...go...go. And now since we have taken our tree down she says "Christmas is over, bye Christmas tree.. see you next year"

A few years ago we came up with a new family tradition. Since justyns birthday is December 5Th, we decided that on his birthday we would go and get our Christmas tree. It is just something to make his birthday seem a little extra special. This year we went to Lowe's and found the perfect tree. And of course it had to pass the birthday boy's approval. It only took us two hours to find it. It was a blast though! I think we looked at every tree they had there, my arms were sore :)

Indiana Justyn and the Best crusade!

Justyn turned eight this year, wow where does the time go. He couldn't decide on a birthday party theme, and he finally came up with Indiana Jones. It was allot of fun, we had an archaeological dig on the side of our home. Wes berried bags of treasure for the kids to dig up. They had a great time digging in the dirt! even some of the adults joined in on the digging fun!
I love making justyn's birthday cakes each year to match the theme of his party, this year we decided to make a snake cake since Indiana Jones hates snakes.
It was fun to make :)
